Reference Framework, Toolkit, Guidelines, Action Plan - TREIO in 24 months

Home News

TREIO aims to provide a Reference Training Framework on the application of the EIO Directive tailoring the content to cross-border specifics - investigative measures, cooperation, procedures, safeguards, data protection compliance, technical aspects of the EIO exchange; and providing video tutorials on the and the use of the e-Evidence Exchange Digital System, developed by EC. It is ambitious goal on its own, but this is not where TREIO ends.

Once this task is complete and TREIO online training goes live in the second half of 2021, then – what is next? The project team will refocus their attention to develop a Training Toolkit and guidelines for all-round EIO training adoption across EU, as well as an Action Plan for future actions on EIO training.

The Training Toolkit will be produced in English and will include: the TREIO training content (modules) on EIO and TREIO e-learning platform set-up information, background materials for trainers and train-the-trainer (pedagogical) manual, model feedback and evaluation form(s) and procedure(s) for continuous assessment. The Toolkit will be validated through open public discussions with relevant stakeholders in the end of 2021/beginning of 2022.

The Action Plan for future trainings on EIO will provide the sustainability plan for the adoption of the TREIO Toolkit, including lessons learnt, recommendations and guidelines for carrying out training activities; thus, developing a mechanism for multiplying the results achieved by TREIO in all of the 27 Member States at the end of the project.

Both instruments – the Toolkit and its guidelines, and the Action Plan – will be officially presented at the TREIO final event in the first quarter of 2022.
