TREIO Online Training (English)

Title: TREIO Full/eEDES Training Package (English)
Period: October 2023 - ongoing
Location: Online

The TREIO Online Training focuses on the modalities of issuing, receiving and executing EIOs, including via the e-Evidence Digital Exchange System (eEDES), alongside information about ITN and MLA Requests as part of the eEDES workflow. TREIO tools, offered to the participants in the online training, include:

  • self-paced e-learning course on EIO implementation using eEDES based on TREIO training materials and providing for real-time training modalities via the eEDES Simulator
  • access to the TREIO eEDES Simulator which emulates the EIO business flow (with customised auto-responder) and a full e-CODEX infrastructure to provide realistic message flows among trainees.

It is offered in two formats:

The TREIO Online Training - Full Training Package, introduces the participants to both legal and business aspects of the EIO implementation including via eEDES. The course covers the very basics of the EIO Directive, the EIO forms, and the modalities of issuing, receiving, and executing EIOs, using the TREIO eEDES Simulator to perform these tasks. Additionally, information about ITN and MLA Requests as part of the eEDES workflow will accompany the materials on the EIO.

The TREIO Online Training - eEDES Training Package, introduces the participants to aspects on how to use eEDES for the issuing, receiving, and executing EIOs using the TREIO eEDES Simulator to perform these tasks. Additionally, information about sending ITN and MLA Requests using eEDES will accompany the materials on the EIO.

The courses are self-paced and do not require an instructor and, therefore, the participants can complete each of the courses to their own available schedule. Their duration is planned for 3 to 5 days of non-intensive work.

Impact

The TREIO Online Training in English has been open since 09 October 2023, free to all registered participants. All registered participants who successfully passed the final examination received a certificate of completion for the training. As a result, TREIO has provided access to the e-learning (including the TREIO eEDES Simulator) to over 750 EU professionals during the project lifetime (end of January 2024). Considering the e-learning has remained open after the end of the project, further professionals have benefitted from the courses provided.

Open Access

As of December 2024, to facilitate easier access to the courses, the project team has provided quick and open access to the TREIO Full Package and the TREIO eEDES Package in English, in the form of HTML self-paced trainings (see below). While there are certain limitations in terms of interactiveness, feedback and usability, the HTML self-paced trainings mirror the content of the courses and provide the same information to the professionals opting to follow them in terms of content and media support.

  • To access the TREIO Full Package (HTML self-paced training) in English, follow this link.
  • To access the TREIO eEDES Package (HTML self-paced training) in English, follow this link.

Please be advised that the HTML self-paced versions do not track professionals' learning path, therefore all participants will need to make a record of where they finished their learning to know where to return back to when using the courses provided on the TREIO website, and no certificate of completion is provided at the end. Should a professional opts for the HTML self-paced versions and they are interested in using the TREIO eEDES Simulator and TREIO Auto-Responder, they should get in contact with the TREIO Team and provide information on their names, institution they represent and their position to validate their qualifications for access.
