The Croatian Presidency of the Council of the EU and the European Commission have organized an e-Justice Conference 2020 “Digitalization of the EU judicial systems: new ways forward” which was to take place in Opatija, Croatia, on 18-19 May 2020. Due to the COVID-19 state of emergency across Europe, the conference was cancelled.
The conference was to address several timely and relevant topics with respect to the current and future developments in the field of modernization and digitalization of justice systems at both on national and European levels. The event was set to bring together prominent speakers – national and EU experts, representatives of Member States’ competent authorities, European institutions, and European associations of legal professionals (CCBE, CNUE, CEHJ, and EEEI), etc.
Separate sessions were dedicated to the European e-Justice Action Plan (2019-2023) and its current initiatives, the realities, challenges, and opportunities behind the legal tech application in judiciary with specific focus on Artificial Intelligence systems, and digitalization of cross-border EU procedures.
TREIO Project was invited to take part with an overview on its Reference Training Framework on EIO to be presented by Ms Alexandra Tsvetkova, LIBRe Foundation.
